On August 20, 2026, Chairman Qin Fei of Xuzhou Transportation Holding Group visited Southeast University’s School of Transportation for in-depth discussions on intelligent transportation, intelligent construction, and low-altitude economy. Dean Ma Tao and other school leaders and faculty attended the meeting.

At the symposium, Dean Ma Tao welcomed the delegation and outlined the School's disciplinary optimization and emerging research directions. He stressed that, in response to industry transformation and national priorities, the School has built teams in low-altitude transport, autonomous driving, and transportation AI, establishing a full R&D chain from basic research to engineering application. He noted that partnering with Xuzhou Transportation Holding Group is a key step to boost industry-academia collaboration and regional development, aiming for a win-win integration of academic expertise and industrial practice.

Secretary Qin Fei thanked the School for its support and outlined the Group's reform and industrial strategy. He noted the Group is pursuing innovation-driven, industry-education integrated growth to become a regional transportation leader. This collaboration, he said, is a forward-looking move for the 15th Five-Year Plan to boost technology and new productive forces in transport. He called for joint efforts in research, talent training, low-altitude applications, and outcome demonstration, aiming for a "business posing problems, university solving them, market evaluating" innovation loop.

Secretary Qin Fei's delegation also toured the School's labs and facilities, including bridge engineering, integrated transport, and traffic control sandbox rooms. On-site demonstrations covered intelligent bridge inspection, zero-carbon terminals, UAV traffic patrols, and low-carbon pavement technologies, showcasing the School's strengths and vision in smart transportation and intelligent construction.

The School will leverage this engagement to align research with enterprise needs, empower engineering with前沿 technologies, and bring industry scenarios closer to innovation sources, supporting Xuzhou Transportation Holding Group's leapfrog growth in new sectors. Both sides will deepen their industry-academia-research-application collaboration to contribute to the national transportation strategy and the development of the Huaihai Economic Zone central city.
